I am in the same boat at the moment. I have been getting nibbles on my adsense ads and I figure if I choose the right keywords I could make something happen. I say research your keyword strategy and then jump full force into adwords.

if you can make a profit by selling a product or make money by other ads then yes it i good, but you should try to get free traffic first.

Adword is salutary when you are merchandising a creation..As far as superior is attentive there are numerous opposite sources of encouragement which you can do with your own efforts or get it through at alter costs.

if you have the money ... go for it.
If not ... try to make seo on your own ( getting visitors to your site ) ... this way you will understand the marketing process better and spend paid money wisely.

adwords is good, but expensive. You could also go with many smaller priced companies.
