I think you just getting back links to different site even though they are poor. Try reading the content before get back links.

Do follow is important but most important thing is where you are submitting.

I think quality backlinks gets only through submitting Google.

use yahoo site explorer for checking your back links and start doing forum/blog posting as this gives instant traffic to your site once your comments are approved. :-)
