A sitemap also allows you to tell the search engines (score of 1 - 10) how important YOu consider each page to be; therefore you can make your key landing pages most important.

Using sitemap for any website is still important from SEO as well as visitors perspective. A html sitemap can be used greatly for your websites' visitors convenience! By using a html sitemap you can highlight your main services or products that you're offering through your website. So here visitors can get a proper idea at a glance. On the other hand a xml sitemap is mainly made for search engines' crawlers convenience. While Google bot or other crawlers start crawling your website a good xml sitemap can easily help them to crawl each part of your website properly!
