How important are page titles?

Page titles are not as important in Google as they used to because their ranking system is far more sophisticated now obviously, however they are still very important, even if not for SEO purposes they are important for the conversion of a website aswell and making it look complete, they take little effort so I would keep them as one of the most important aspects.

Titles are not only the most important aspect of your onsite SEO, but its also what a potential sees before deciding if he/she will click on your site. I try and treat my titles as ads, properly optimized with my keywords.

meta title is very much important because it is the header that users will see when they find your web site through a search engine. that is why it is must to have a concise and direct meta title.

From the Google Search results you might have noticed that the search query (Keyword) is highlighted within the search results in their domain address (URL), page title, description given importance according to the Google Algorithm.

So follow below steps for the same.

1) Try to make the best use of the 1 or 2 keyword (relevant to the page) at the beginning of Page Title within 65 characters (including spaces)
2) Keyword rich description within 145 characters (including spaces)
3) Keyword tags or Meta Keywords: 8-10 within 170 characters.
