When it comes to indexing your backlinks, SE's don't index all of your backlinks in a short period of time. Sometimes you have to do some methods for your backlinks to be indexed by search engines. In order to have a better PR, it's better to aim for high quality backlinks.

The only problem that I encountered when it comes to backlinks is that it took quite a long time before search engines indexed it.
