I think I have a fair grasp of the basics. Could someone explain what the basics of "SERPS" are? Or, for that matter once I have all my keywords, etc., in place, what is the next thing I can do to get more click throughs? I am still paying too much and not getting a return?

Thanks in advance! kidu

SERP = Search Engine Results Page

SERP's = Search Engine Results Pages

These are the locations you will hopefully show up once optimization has begun and you continue to improve your site popularity and ranking.

I know you said you already know the basics, but the best way to generate more traffic to your website it to just have good copy that is continually updated, a good set of quality and relevant incoming links.

All the search engines really want is to pull good sites to the top of the searches, so they love sites that work with them instead of always trying to trick them. Get this right and you wont have to pay for traffic, the engines will send you plenty.

If you want traffic fast, then working on the content and links is not going to be the way to go. It takes time for this to happen, though the results are better than others. If you want traffic now, join some ppc engines or google adwords and get your listing out there. It can be costly if done improperly, so do research before you jump in!

The fastest way to get traffic to a site is to use adwords, but if you want free organic traffic you need to develop a solid base of links and lots of good fresh content and then give the search engines time to find it all. In the long run it is the best method of getting traffic but if your site is newer and you want traffic fast then Adwords is the way to go.

But remember that you have to pay for it and a lot of money.

Yes, you have to do a lot of good research before you jump into programs like adwords because if you dont, you will regret and pay for it in the long run!

SERPs is a bit of industry jargon you may have heard used on various websites and is actually an acronym for Search Engine Results Page.

When you do a search on google, or any other search engine the results that you get are termed as (SERP). This term is used by Search Engine Optimizers and Webmasters, to refers to the search results.

SERPs are the listing of web pages returned by a search engine in response to a keyword/phrase query. The results normally include a list of web pages with titles, a link to the page, and a short description showing where the keywords have matched content within the page. A SERP may refer to a single page of links returned, or to the set of all links returned for a search query.

Google’s SERP are based on value of content, keywords ( SEO), and then on the pagerank. Google has done a good job of ensuring fairness in SERPS so that a site doesn’t have to have tons of traffic and backlinks to rank well for a keyword.

SERPS is the state earning related pension scheme it was replaced a couple of years ago by the State Second Pension. What this does is it builds up a second pension (on top of your old age pension) that you will get when you are 65. It may be in your best interest to opt out of the state second pension (formally known as serps) as this may provide you with better options at retirement. These penson are built up form your national insurance contributions.

Hello,

Search engine results pages or SERPs are the listing of web pages returned by a search engine in response to a keyword/phrase query. The results normally include a list of web pages with titles, a link to the page, and a short description showing where the keywords have matched content within the page.

Thanks & Regards,
