Why dont you compare your site to the top results and see what they are doing differently from you. You can see what is behind their success then imitate it to give them a run for number 1

To get good ranking in search engines, it is important to use targeted keywords. While selecting keywords do a proper research & then only select targeted keywords. Use those keywords in your content. Also try to get more quality backlinks & update your content regularly.

I would always use targeted keywords, but true in the fact that they dont give you top results. I would stick with the linking game and see where you get!

I understand that you already know your targeted keyword and that you just need to improve your ranking for that keyword. If you're 5# it means that your site is fairly optimised. In that case I'd recommend you to do an active link building campaign targeting that targeted keyword. That will give you the push to take your site up.

To do a targeted link building campaign you'd need to do relevant link exchange, paid links or press release submission.
