It won't pass on link juice but if you have a link it will mean that Yahoo, Google and MSN will follow the link and if its a new page will help to get it indexed.

You need to keep actively answering questions because of the volume they get, it seems like ones I answered a couple months ago generate zero referrals.

Yes, most of them are free, but free hosting isn't all it's cooked up to be. Remember, they offer less space within their servers. Only the sub-domain name is used within the site, so obviously visitors can't easily remember it. You'll also have to deal with those annoying ads on your site, which you can't really remove because you should give credit to your host. Those ads are really distracting for anyone visiting your site.

Yahoo sets stricter policies compared to Yedda.com. I don't think it's safe to include links in Yahoo! Answers. They can easily delete your answer or kick you out if you make a post without any connection to the question.

Agree .. but if you go to traffic to Yahoo answers. This will certainly give you a good site with good traffic conversion
