Live renamed to BING
I understand their thinking and rebranding to help compete with google, but I think that it is going to take more than a domain name to retain a lot of users.
They need to rework their algorithm drastically. I rarely get good results with Microsoft search / Live.
To me this new domain is like putting lipstick on a pig! Yes it will draw in some new users, but not as many as they could if they redid their search engine code.
What does everyone else think of them rebranding Live to Bing?

This new SE from Microsoft will bring some changes on search technology. They even acquired Powerset in order to have the team behind it work for the search technology of Bing, they said that they were impress with the people there. Their experience, their passion for search, and a shared vision would help Bing to take Search to the next level. Well this new SE gained positive feedback after it was launched. Let's see and wait if they will going to dethroned Big G. =)

I do like the idea that you have a decent alternative to google, however its still really just Live search rebranded with a couple of added features. Will need work if they want to compete with Googles search results. Lets face it google are becoming too dominant (OK so they are already!) and if there is no real competition then the way they work their search results becomes something they can dictate with no challenge...

Bing competition
I didn't like MSN too much, but it looks like there is some difference between Bing and whatever you call was rebranded. Lets see how Microsoft will increase popularity of their search engine

I think the engine is different. It certainly looks like Google now, but the results seem slightly different than before.hoster wrote:I understand their thinking and rebranding to help compete with google, but I think that it is going to take more than a domain name to retain a lot of users.
