I prefer manual checking .Althought this is slow but i like to gothe natural way

At least with yahoo using link:www.example.com, you will get more real results. Not with google, as I think they sandbox the back links for a long time.

Some tools from time to time show 0 for Yahoo of MSN backlinks. It is common thing

just type: link:www.yourdomain.com in either google or yahoo then you will have who links to you

I have found there is a big variation between search engine backlinks , my site has 54 in Yahoo and only 4 in Google.

Yes, it seems that Google will "hide" the actual amount of backlinks that you have, but the other SE's don't care. I really like online-utility.org for checking backlinks because they seem to be pretty accurate (except for Google backlinks of course).

Maybe that tool is not accurate. Try to use manual method to make it sure.

Link popularity checker tool is good you can see there popular links of your site by 4 major search engines like Google, yahoo, Bing, Alta vista and All the web.
