Link building and optimizing your site

Postby philski » Sat Dec 30, 2006 3:06 am

Hi all, Great, Informative posts. thank you,,,

i just tried a new approach, no links in, and just optimize the site, rank,
then start link building and measure the change,

i have 15 sites all with different promotion and seo and rank all of them top 10 in google,

one i started 14 days ago and is now ranked top 10 Google for my chosen keywords,
"Tasmanian Hosting" "philski" etc, the most searched local term,
without a single link in, and with a brand "philski", not related to the business itself,, and, bang,,, top 10,

Interestingly, the domain name ranked at no:5. (google) its only reference in copyright not really seen, and the Domain www.philski.com

and,, even more amazingly, 2 of my other sites, one i don't own anymore, rank better,,, without a single keyword, just because of my "philski Sig, on forums i guess? and just being near the Sig url in my posts, interesting stuff

Have a great New years all

Kindest Regards
Phillip

Great tips.

Yes, quality one way link building is the way to go. It will really help to rank higher in the search engines.

another measured seo testing result

Postby philski » Mon Feb 05, 2007 9:32 am

HI all,

well i have been hard at it,

i entered the seo world championship with 2 domains, and started both with the same content, same site, same time, and very simular domain, and same optimization. and to further test one was a dot.mobi v dot.com

i used the mobi as the link test, and the com with no links just on-site optimization,

after 2 weeks, mobi links=128 with the keyphrase in the tag, ranked 205th

dot com with no links and the same optimization was 405th,, so nearly twice as low, it was a great testing ground against so many other sites, with a brand new phrase, so it is all very measurable,

i have now put some 20000 links in on both sites though and am just about to point as many big juicy page ranked sites at them as i can get, I was ranked as high as 4th with the mobi,, so i have a strong chance of winning the contest, my first entry an older domain was in 2nd,

its pretty interesting to watch, from a pure seo point of view, and i hope it answers anyone's questions about links and more importantly taged backlinks and if there really worth it, the answer is,,,yes,

have a Fantastic day everyone and take care,

Some uses different tactics like links in blog comments. Some also uses wikipedia spamming, but it is very risky to discover other link building techniques

Maybe Philski is right

Postby emarketerpro » Sun Mar 04, 2007 5:03 am

Hi Everyone,
Just this forum and am amazed that these site actually link well.

In my veiw i think link popularity is overated as i have a few sites and one of them rates 12 on msn with no optimization
and 1 link.

I also own www.emarketerproducts.com which has been optimized by 1 of the best with no links and it ranks number 1.

I have just made a simlilar site www.seosoftware-trial.com (my first attempt) and am currently trialing different seo software to see which 1 works the best.

If anyone can spare a link i will gladly link back
