Triangular link exchange

What do you think of triangular link exchange? Lately I have been getting more of these type of emails:
We have several sites and would like to consider
a triangular link exchange with you. In other words, we
would link to you on one of our sites (Google PR 5 or 6) and
you would link to one of our sites other than the one on
which we link to you. That way, in addition to any traffic
we'd generate for each other, the links would give us both
the maximum value in Google and other search engine ranking
algorithms.

Does anybody know why non-reciprocal linking would be more valuable for Google than reciprocal linking?

You always have to make sure that you are linking to people that wont get your site banned. I have people try to link to me and give reciprocal links back to me that are already in place on another website. People are getting sneaky these days so be careful!

as long as you will get link juice from that site, it's not bad to link from there

Google believes more one way linking than reciprocal Linking. In one way linking, they have the linking for same category. In reciprocal linking two sites exchange links for their benefits even if it is not relevant...

That's true but still you have the option to choose which sites you want to engage into triangular link exchange

I think a lot has to do with who you are linked up with. If its in a bad area then you may even get negative results to your links.
