Richest man in the world today

Postby chris26 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 6:41 am

The richest man in the world today is Jeff Bezos founder of Amazon.

Most of the richest people in the world today get so rich because they own stock and it grows in price and never pay taxes unless they sell some. Alot of the richest people are called paper rich it is the price of stock they own. Some borrow money against the stock and use that to live and even if they sell the stock they pay capital gains taxes which are less taxes than someone who works for a company.

Some of the richest people are also call paper rich cash poor they borrow against the stock they own to support they lifestyle. They could never sell all the stock they own and get the money because the stock would go down when they sell.

Elon Musk who started paypal talks about how he was paper rich cash poor.

Yet Jeff Bezos is not truly the wealthiest person ever, despite numerous reports to the contrary. On an inflation-adjusted basis, Bill Gates has previously been worth far more. In April 1999, for instance, Gates’ net worth eclipsed $100 billion for the first time when Microsoft shares topped out at the apex of the dot-com bubble. That fortune would be worth roughly $150 billion in today’s dollars.
