Difference in users

Do any of you notice the difference in visitors from the different search engines? Meaning, do you notice a different type of visitor from each search engine? Demographic, socioeconomic, geaographic etc...

Of course, I get a lot of visits via Guruji.com from India and also see difference in traffic for same keyword.

That definetly makes sense on the geographic-end but what about the big three in the US. Google, Yahoo and MSN?

I don't get much traffic from MSN but yahoo and google definitely have different ranking for the same keyword for my sites.

I didn't mean ranking, I meant the difference in types of visitors, not quantity.

Well, if you mean bouce rate and conversion rate. I don't really find any difference. I have also tried yahoo SEM and google adwords (just for search) and found similar conversion rates (though google was 'slightly' better)

I don't mean conversation or bounce rate. I guess I should be a little clearer.

I'm referring to age, socioeconomic (i.e. income level), education level etc.

I'm curious if there have been studies on the subject or if people have been able to quantify the difference.

My guess is that Yahoo users would tend to be older because Google did not always dominate the way it does now. Older users may be more affluent.

I disagree, most older people got into it after the younger crowd. IMO. I don't know the stats.

Yes, specially if your site targets a specific territory or region. It helps a lot.
