no follow links? How to determine?

I have seen the term no follow, or no follow links on a couple of blogs I have read. It seems that a webmaster can write the code to not give a link for the search engines to follow which will give you no benefit from posting a link on that particular blog.
If that is correct is there someway I can determine if the blog, forum..... has that no follow code?
I see the value of posting to a forum, or a blog....., but the no follow defeats that value of a link back- right?

its just not recognizing the link that was posted in a certain page...

View the Page Source then search for "nofollow" attribute. If you can't find anything, then it's a dofollow blog.

Firefox has lots of nofollow addons all working good but I like seo book nofollow addons it is very useful.

Its pretty easy, you need to install a no-follow tool on your browser. Or better yet download SEObooks toolbar. All of the important seo tools are well provided.

You can use searchstatus add-ons it determines if the blog is do follow or no follow.
