I thing that posting URL's of your site in forums like this one is a good idea.
Putting quality content on your site and updating it freqvently is good 2.

You can try exchanging links with sites that contain content relatet to your site. Try to get them from sites with high PR. Adding new contet (quality) as freaquenly as you can.

You should set your keywords right in meta tags, set your <h> tags so that they contain your keywords, also, your text paragrafs shoud start with them.

Do not over use your keywords. They should be about 1,5-2% of the content.

make site map of your site and interlink your pages.

You can also try to add your sites to some directories that offer one way links ( you can find them on internet for free).

Question - So if i have my link of forums, but the forums are not relevant to my website (just like this one), will i still get a higher PR?

It can't hurt you, but I thing that other then promoting your site to other forum users you gain nothing. So, no your PR will not grow.

I think the best way to do it is to be as natural as possible. I wouldn't just start linking with lots of PR0's, seek out quality links. Lots of high pr people will link to even PR0's and seem to take a longer term view.

Is that long list of web directories really helpful? Arent those considered link farms, Ive heard they dont do much good to your page rank.

Posting in forums is never a waste of time. You earn backlinks to your site and at the same time you can learn from the experience and knowledge of forum members.

Yes, we can get high pr with this way but many more way to get high pr from google.

Yes that's a fact but it's not that easy to get many backlinks from high ranking pr sites - forum posts never hurt and really can help and they contribute to the forum community as long as it are no post like "i agree", "lol" and so on ...
