Google ranking

I'm not sure, but IMO. Changing hosting company will lead to the change of IP Address. As far as I know IP Address is extremely important when the search engines make their SERP.

So, what I assume, you might tempererly drop your SERP with the search engines, but you'l get it back soon. Once again, IMO.

This is my problem i am not only changing my host server but i am also changing the whole look of my site,
I know that my site will be search engine friendly but i am not sure about the hosting server,
should i add the new site and server together under a different domain name and then after a few months change the domian name or should i just add the new site to a new hosting server with the old domain name, dialemers what should i do.

You raised a tricky question. I don't know the answer. But it seems to me if you add the new site and server together under a different domain name and then after a few months change the domian name that will look very artificial for the search engines. They will keep your content in the cache for a while under the old domain, then the same content will appear under the new domain, it might look as duplicate. Very, very iffy. IMO.

Thats what i thought, i would probably end up getting penalised for duplicate site material i think i am going to just have to take a drop in rankings whilst i change things over, as i can't really see any other option.

I just expressed my opinion, using what I think is common sense. It doesn't mean I'm right.
Someone else might have different opinion, or other idea.
