Domain Authority is a score (on a 100-point scale) developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engines. Use Domain Authority when comparing one site to another or tracking the “strength” of your website over time

Page Authority is a score (on a 100-point scale) developed by Moz that predicts how well a specific page will rank on search engines. It is based off data from the Mozscape web index and includes link counts, MozRank, MozTrust, and dozens of other factors. It uses a machine learning model to predictively find an algorithm that best correlates with rankings across the thousands of search results that we predict against.

Domain Authority and Page Authority is most important now a days before building links. This will not help you much if you build low quality links with lower DA/PA. So it's better to try for good authoritative websites.

Domain Authority represents Moz’s best prediction for how a website will perform in search engine rankings. Domain Authority tracks the “strength” of your website over time.

Domain authority is based on lot of factors. Primarily, your website's back links profile and how authoritative those sites are.

DA is difficult to influence directly. You must have some patience for it. There are only two ways to increase or improve your website's DA:

1.Get rid of bad links.
2.Gain good links.

These are some ways to increase your DA :
- Develop strong internal linking: Internal linking weaves a powerful network within your site that benefits both the user and the search engines that crawl and index your site. A site that lacks internal linking is like a collection of pebbles — disconnected and weak. But a site that has strong internal linking turns those pebbles into concrete — interconnected and unbreakable.
- Regularly remove toxic backlinks: It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. You’ve got to remove your toxic backlinks. Every now and then, you should dig into your link profile, find the spammy links, and get rid of them.

To determine Domain Authority, we employ machine learning against Google's algorithm to best model how search engine results are generated. Over 40 signals are included in this calculation. This means your website's Domain Authority score will often fluctuate. For this reason, it's best to use Domain Authority as a competitive metric against other sites as opposed to a historic measure of your internal SEO efforts.
