Pogostick is a user entering your website from the search results, then they do not interact at all and they leave the site by pressing the back button and return to the search page of google.

Let's take an example so that you can understand easily.

You are a searcher and you are searching for stuff on google. because you don't know the exact URL of the site you are looking for you will click on the Site shown in the result but when the site is loaded and you will come to know that particular site is not a site you are looking for so immediately you will hit the back button. this is known as pogo-sticking.

I hope you understood. let me know. :)

Pogo sticking is when a user performs search, clicks on a result and jumps back to result page and clicks on another result. Pogo Sticking is considered worse than Bounce Rate.

Suppose you are looking for a particular result in Search Engine Results Pages, but after clicking the result link you find out that it was not worth for you & therefore you immediately closed that page. Now, this effect is called as Pogo-Sticking in technical terms. Having a high Pogo-Sticking for your website will drop your ranking in SERP, so any business or company always gives this term its due importance. By using Google Analytics tool, you can easily measure it under the section of Bounce Rate.

Pogo-sticking is defined as going back and forth from a search engine results page (SERPs) to an individual search result destination site. In other words, pogo-sticking is when the searcher clicks on a link on a SERP. Sees that it's not what she is looking for, and immediately bounces off by hitting the back button.

Pogo-sticking is defined as going back and forth from a search engine results page (SERP) to an individual search result destination site. This means that when the searcher clicks on a link on a SERP, sees that it’s not what he/she is looking for, immediately leaves by hitting the back button.
