Sandbox is for new sites-- Google pauses your listing 3-9 months
Banned is banned for misconduct
They are not the same thing
How to avoid the sandbox: Dont submit your site, and just get links to it.
If you already submitted, welcome to the sandbox my friend!

OH no... really? I submitted my website to Google when i first put it online in May/June 2006. So does that mean why I am not showing up at all in some of my keyword searches? My site just got a PR5 and it does show up in searches for some of my pillow keywords. Should I infer that my website is in the "sandbox" or not?kremit wrote:

You can submit to Google...you can submit it every week if you want...but the most likely way that Google will find and index your site is from following links from other sites...there is no penalty for submitting to Google a lot.
If you have a PR of 5, and you show up for your keywords, one of 2 things has happened. Either you are showing up in the serps for non-competitive keywords, or you are not in the sandbox...most likely, it is both.
