If you want to rank high in Google then the best way to do it is to spend your time producing lots of quality content on your site. It could be in the form of a blog.

You should aim to make the content a valuable resource that authoritative sites would want to link to.

It is a good idea to have a theme running through your site. In our case for example, we have an Italian theme and so we have an Italian gastronomy glossary, a Calcio glossary, a page on Italian culture etc.

Top SEOs have resources to hand which can be linked from easily and friends in the right places (DMOZ etc.).

Other ways of obtaining links are via forums, blogs, directories and article syndication. Make sure that your have your keywords in your anchor text and if possible put your anchor text in paragraphs.

You will need to build up your links gradually over a period of time and get your on-page optimisation absolutely spot on. Your internal link structure needs to be optimised and make sure that you do not leak any unneccessary PR. Also create an internal sitemap and submit a Google sitemap.

That's it for now.

if you take higher ranking , it's not the same as you take your site between the first top 10 in the search system. try self and se the rank of 10 first sites.

Well, I say that this is one of the most famous and mostly asked questions regarding SEO, am I right? In a few words, my answer would be "optimize your site". But then again, optimization is not a simple thing to do. You have to do both on-page and off-page optimization, both focusing on one or several well-researched keywords/keyword phrases.

yes optimization is a lot of help to get rank your keywords in SE's. But to be more effective you also need to concentrate on your content. Updating your content every week ( if it is a blog site) is a big help . Fresh and unique content. Google loves it.

Top 10 in Google search is not a big problem,my blog is ranking very high(top 5) for some keywords & that's possible without much promotion. But for this quality content is essential & instead of building links from lot of sites, just try to get links from reputed sites having high PR whether dofollow or nofollow isn't a matter & should match your site niche.

That's enough, but don't try to go for highly competitive keywords otherwise you would be lost in the blogosphere. :)

Just continue to get more backlinks. It's better if the backlinks are from relevant sites.
