A Google bomb or Google wash is an attempt to influence the ranking of a given site in results returned by the Google search engine. Due to the way that Google's PageRank algorithm works, a website will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page all use consistent anchor text. Google bomb is used both as a verb and a noun.

As of me Google bombing is an attempt to a search result on Google by increasing a Web page's Page Rank algorithm not only considers keywords when determining Page Rank, it also considers the number of other sites that link to a page and the words used in the link description. A successful Google bomb requires that a high number of Web sites link to a specific Web page using specific words in the hyperlink.
