if i have a good ranking and how can i maintain the ranking

how often i have to update the site.site updation means in the content.

I am doing same thing but now a days has been lost my yahoo ranking ...so could suggest me what can i do..so that i can get and also maintain my site ranking...in yahoo and google search engine.

I am agree to get first position and to maintain the keyword position ranking both are different things. I am always suggesting to all to don't stop to build and promoting even you are at first Position.
