Yup and this is Google's strategy. This is how other Search Engines differs from Google because they doesn't show all the back-links in a certain site. They have a different way of checking it.

Almost all the sites will not be numbered on all the search engines. So, back links will appear only from the sites which have indexed in the search engines.

Yes i agree with all of you, google does not display backlinks except in webmasters, whereas yahoo displays them correctly.

As far as I know, Google only show the backlinks if your site PR is 3 and up.

I am really interested to learn more about the backlinks and its effectiveness and its pro’s and con’s and so on and so forth as I am a newbie. My question is about backlinks that my site has about 1000 backlinks as referred by Google Webmaster Tools. Though with Yahoo Tools, it said I have 3000 backlinks.

Vow this is great. Because my website is having less number of back links in Yahoo whereas in Google I am having more number of back links. Can you pls tell me the websites which you have used to do link building in Yahoo.
