Difference in backlinks

Can anyone tell me why when I try to see how many backlinks I have Yahoo shows hundreds google only a few???

Almost all the sites will not be listed on all the search engines. So, back links will appear only from the sites which have indexed in the search engines.

For having a better view of the way Google sees the links to your website, you can try the Google Webmasters Tools section and view a great preview of the links pointing to your site.

It doesnt shows all the Backlinks, but still count all the backlinks right? Ive always had this doubt.

Just start make your linking plans going. Never stop and look back if Google shows it all or not because G never shows all.

google doesn't show all the backlinks because they want to protect it against the competition and it want a fair fight

Yup and this is Google's strategy. This is how other SE differs from Google coz they doesn't show all the backlinks in a certain site.

Google don't accept no follow link while yahoo accept even do-follow and no follow links.Thats why yahoo has many backlinks than Google.

check your backlinks on google webmaster tool to see real number of your links. Google command doesn't display all of your links because they don't want others to spy on competitor site.

Google doesn't display all backlinks thats why your are finding no. of backlinks are less in google.
