Yeah, mystery I think. Well, just shocked to find out that my website ranked well with Yahoo than in Google.

Most of same using algorithm yahoo, google.

All search engine's algorithms are a mystery in some level, yahoo is very interesting since most people think it is simpler than Google's, i really think that Yahoo together with Bing building trust and authority slowly and working behind the since without making too much noise to wake up Google. We can already see in some search quality results more than what Google offers.
For that reason Panda came out to fight content and link farms!

I wouldn´t trouble if I hierarchic pleasing in Google but bad in Character. In the UK Google drives over 90% of the searches, so you change pore in ranking on Google.

I think the Title is the biggest ranking factor of Yahoo's raking algorithm! The description you give when submitting to yahoo web directory should include your major keywords. The more visitors click on your website from Yahoo SERP's, the more you'll get close to the Top Ranking.

Let's try and make sense of what they're up to.

Am I the only one whose done research on their SERP's and found quirks? I mean seriously guys...my stuff IS working but I, for the life of me can't figure out why some sites are even ranked!

p.s. as for google, lately...they've been playing fair

Yahoo and Google revenue thrive on Search Engines. I doubt they will want to reveal their algorithm. I don't believe Google is playing fair. Maybe if you compare Yahoo and Google you feel Google is fairer ? That is in relative comparison and not absolute comparison.

I suspect certain sites always are top for the simple reason they pay. As to how they pay could be business tie-down or sponsor-ship or whatever. The same logic applies to certain renowned research websites. Let's me realistic, without monies flowing in, how do they sustain their business correct ? They have to feed their employees every month.

Nowadays I read those research websites recommendation and search engine results with caution. Maybe trust 50% but never 100%.
