It is very simple to advertise in the yahoo group, but you have to be accurate at the usage of language.

it depends on the groups in yahoo you want to join. Some of their are spammers. So make sure, you will double check before you join.

Yahoo Advertising is better than Google . i am mentioning one point below where yahoo is better than Google :

Google does not allow you to know how much your competitors are bidding per click but Yahoo allows you to see who you are bidding against and what they are bidding, so you know exactly where you will rank, and how much you will pay.

You can try to become a member of in moderated categories and try to reveal relevent and points to them once you've than this you might get some visitors out of it...just do not trash...
