Does anyone know of a free tool that can check your site for broken links?

If you go through the web you will able to find many tools that check broken links. Anyway you will able to find a broken link checker tool in Submitexpress.com website very soon.

Broken links are links that lead nowhere. Clicking on the link will show an error page; "Page not found" or something similar.

Broken links are like stop signs to search engine robots. They use the links on the pages of your site to follow to other pages at your site.

This free online Checker / Validator not just tells you which of your hyperlinks are dead but it will also show to your where exactly those stale references locate in your HTML code!

Maybe you can use siteexplorer.info to check backlinks, it is not a tool of any restrictions, and completely free.
