Change Title without being punished by SE

I've heard changing (correcting) the site Title or Description tags leads to some sort of punishments from search engines, especially from Google. It might take several month untill you get back even to your current level of SERP.
Let say, if you find your current Title or Description tags little overstuffed or it doesnt look correct to you now, is there any way to change it without dropping the ranks?

Have a great day,
Peter

I tend to believe you, but my experience say the opposite. First what happened after correcting <title> and <description>, the site was moved to the supplements and the URL on SERP was changed from domain name to ip address. Then it took me much longer than two days to get back, that took me for about a month.
Very possible that was just a coincidence during some algorythm changing. And I really wondering if anyone else experienced with such things.

I even start thinking there is something wrong with my site cousing such things. As of now, I'm back from Google suplements to normal and my URL in the SERP get back to normal, but the ranking, especially by Google, is still suffering.

Now, when I consider making some slight corrections within my major tags, I'm kind of afraid to do that. Any idea? Your opinions would be very appreciated.

Have a great day,
Peter

It can't be considered as punishment. SERP drop usually happens when we do some changes with a page that's already cached or indexed by SEs

Any truly and reasonably changes title will help with the rankings as well. Suppose you have a page title that is made of many keywords, and by reducing them, you actually are doing something which is right.

That's not always clear and easy to say what is "truly and reasonably". We can see the same thing differenly.
What I though, the changes I've done with my <title> and <description> were "truly and reasonably", but Google considered them the other way.
I simply wondering how would the other viewers considered my current <title> and <description> tags "reasonable" or not. If not, what would you guys suggest to make it more "truly and reasonably".

If anyone might take a look at my site which is posted in my signature, and if you guys can, give personal opinion in regards to the <title> and <description>, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day, :)
Peter

There is a change or drop of keywords rank when you change the site Title and Description tags. The Google will reindex your site with the new site title and description.

That's understandable Google will reindex the site with the new site title and description, but I can't understand why the site was dropped to "supplemental", and why it took so long to get back to normal?

May be my title or description look worse and less friendly to the SE than before. Any Idea? Can anyone take a look and suggest anything?

Have a great day,

Ranking will get back within a couple of days so dont worry about lossing ranking in serp. if you want to change keywords in title and description tag you can do it.

So far i know Google does not penalized in changing of titles and description.
I have watched my competition into Networking area and one site change title and description each month to reach better position there where they fail to come within first 10.
And believe or not they are successfully in such a strategy without dropping in SERP for old terms and getting better SERP with new title/descr.
