On page meaning the SEO tactic done on coding of the page during website development. It is mainly done on HTML part of code and other contents or stuffs of the pages itself. Off page means SEO done outside the page context.

As per my knowledge On page SEO are the ones that you as a webmaster or publisher, could get a grip on directly while Off page SEO count primarily on user conduct, readers and other editors.

On page optimization is performed to make the website search engine friendly. and off page SEO is to build back links to a website. both are important for high SERP and PR,,,,,,,,,,

On page SEO is where you edit the content on the page. It's the SEO used to optimize a specific page on your site.

Off page SEO is what you do off of the site to build SEO, such as link building with press releases, guest posts, social media, and so on.

Latest On-page SEO techniques are Header tag, Meta tags (title, keyword and description), internal link, URL, image alt tag, quality and great content.

Latest Off-page SEO techniques are PDF submission, video and ppt sharing, link building, social bookmarking, blog submission, and forum commenting.
