sometimes it really happens.. I think that it's better not to copy the whole original article and just include a short synopsis of it then include your site/resource link for the readers to view the whole content instead

I don't think that article submission is a poor SEO tactic since it helps boost traffic in a site / in a blog, like what easycash81 posted, if it's done properly.

True. If they post it in their site with some new words, it is considered that it is their own article even if they provide a link for you.

I still find Article Submission as a good source of backlinks.. It may be a time consuming but once your article is approved, it'll going to stay there in the long run.. yes, it does not guarantee you to give a good traffic, but the backlinks that you good get as well as the keywords embeded to the article is really worthy for your SERP.

article submissions aren't totally worthless but they only really help your rankings if you write and submit about 40 or more articles on your topic

if you only submit a few nothing will happen

its hard to write that many articles though

For me, article submission may benefit your site directly and indirectly.
Directly is from traffic and of course the anchor text from words and it is Indirectly if those reader found your article reliable and they will purchase your product or services because you already got their trust!

Where are the best places to post/publish your article, or is it completely dependent on the subject of your article/website?
