The first step is to establish the main keyword for your site. This is the word or phrase that you want people to type into the search engines to find your website. It's important to have your site focused around your main keyword.
Selecting the best keyword phrases is the most important step towards optimizing your pages for the Search Engines.

First you have to do competitor analysis and formation of meta tags then you have to adjust quality content along with your targeted keywords. After that you have to do directory submissions, article syndication etc.
