Surely soon someone will find a new SEO tecnique,that is approriate to increase rankings in search.
The directory and socail bookmarking etc,i sometimes wonder if they really help,or if its just people making money who offer such services.

Social media really works : if you are active you can have people who share your interest and you exhange info, fotod, links(to your website) and those people have other friends and so on - the link is spreading.

Of course that this process is not that simple as I presented here but you get the point.

Directory submission I think it can be efficient in two cases :
1. NOT TO USE nofollow on your links (many web directories use nofollow)
2. If you want that the link to be counted in Google you have to use directories that have the same theme as your website.

I agree SMO is best techniques for fast increases SERP and visitors point of view.

SMO works indirectly most of the time, they too often contain links with nofollow attribute.

Some SEO methods might be improving, others might be not effective anymore. Always check for latest around us, here's a new one:

Blog commenting to do follow blogs is the latest technique of SEO, AFAIC! But whatever technique a site is using, it is his duty to make it interesting and useful to others

Yup, social site has a lot of advance in term of marketing how a bout email marketing I think it has also the advantage.

well for me, i've tried video uploading sites. they worked for me. and also article submission to article directories and social bookmarking sites.

Yeah, I am doing Video uploading. It does work good.

Social bookmarking helps. In terms of backlinks and traffic. (unless you make your bookmark a private one)

No need to worry its helping for promotion, only have to careful regarding the quality of those sites.
