I wonder how many spam reports/complaints Google gets every day. And how many of them are legitimate complaints...
From what I've read, G really wants to deal with SE spam using automated software. Hand to hand combat is not scalable.
Too many sneaky nerds out there always toiling away at their next ploys.

I have reported spam several times. I was 1, 2 or 3 for about a dozen search terms in the top 3 engines. Held those positions for months. One day I checked, and suddenly, I was at position 100+ for several positions. Then I noticed that the first 100 listing was from a guy who had gone into forums and had repeatedly used the search term over and over again. All of them linking to his site. Made me mad. I reported him to the big 3, and, it took awhile, but after awhile they went away. If it's blatant spamming, I'll take a minute and drop a note. I figure, if no one complains, the idiots win.

Sometimes. But more often, I do not report them. I am not really sure if they will notice what I have reported anyway.

I do not report them always. But when I feel like to, I do.

I haven't reported any sites for spamming; I'm too busy with my linkbuilding tasks. Google has its mechanism to detect and penalize those spammy sites.

I only report spam if it looks too much. Like I've seen in one forum. The member joined april 2009 but he got 1000 posts and he make the almost 3 pages of spams.
