What is the role of meta tags in the search engines. Can meta tags improve our SERP. Please Reply me with satisfied answer.

Meta tag helps to separate your listing from all of the others. they can give valuable instructions for example nofollow, noindex, provide sitemap location, control cache/archive, etc..

Meta Tags can still help but not that much of a factor anymore, I think the meta description is the most important among the meta tags.

Meta tags are very important in on-page optimization. It may enhance your keyword readability that will give your keyword more chance to be on top of searches.

Metatags give to search engines a general information about the page that they (SEs) then verify with your body and the overall content of that page

They are basic tags that give information about your site both for visitors and search engine bots. They are abused in using so search engines give importance to only few tags.

Title is the most important On Page factor. Title must contain the targeted keyword. As far as description and keywords are concerned search engines don't give importance to keywords and if also if a page contains too many content then their is no need to write a description as search engine can automatically make one for that site.

they said that meta tags is the "head" area of your web pages. it was the first readable content by search engine, that's why it is important to include your keywords in all your meta's

Yeah...

Meta tags is important for search engine spider. Site crawler is read and understand the keyword and web page description from the Meta tag.
