By adding the following meta tag, does this prevent internal links from being followed too?

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX, NOFOLLOW">

Hi,

As far as I know web robots don't make a difference between Internal and external links when using the robots meta tag.

If you add NOFOLLOW in the Robots Meta Tag you tell the web robots not to follow any link. This means internal and External links.

If you want that web robots don't index certain pages or directories just use a robots.txt file and place it in your root directory.

Add the folling into the file:

User-agent: *
Disallow: mywebpage.html
Disallow: /my_directoy/

Yes, all links on this page will never be followed but the page will be open for indexing with any SE bots.

Yes, that's the function of the robots metatag. You put that in the code if you want to prevent pages/links from being followed by SE robots.

Make sure that you have the right code for the particular page of your site. Specially the indexing.
