Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is usually considered paid advertising marketing. It can assist in the SEO process in that you can use it to determine what keywords and content draw the most clicks and convert the best.

I see SEM as a rather broad term. It's everything that can be done to utilize the technology of search engines with the goal of promoting a web site and increasing its traffic, its "stickiness," and, in the case of sites that promote a business (or are a business), increase profits. SEO, therefore, would be a subset of SEM.No SEM campaign is complete without SEO. Moreover, since the purpose of SEO is to make the site better for both search engines and users, you may find that it will suffice on its own. In any case, the advantages of SEO over the other aspects of SEM make it clear that, even if you are going to spend additional money on advertising and paid placement, SEO must be your first step in promoting your site.

SEO it to make the site more search engines and users, this may just be enough. In all cases, the benefits of SEO over other aspects of SEM indicate that, even if you spend extra money on advertising and paid placement, SEO must be your first step in promoting your site.

SEO is the process of tailoring a website (text, titles, meta tags, alt tags etc...) so that search engines will assign a good rank to the sites for the specific search terms.earch engines introducing fees for guaranteed inclusion in their induces, directories charging for reviews and the emergence of PPC listings, SEO now has an element of media buying mixed in.
The SEM is meant to be both a tutorial and a general information resource. If you frequent other prominent SEM resources you will find that this tutorial, like most search engine promotion sites, tends to go over the same ground. This is because there are no secrets to successful search engine positioning - just experience, a lot of research and tons of hard work.

The Search engine marketing comes down to two areas, pay-per-click and search engine optimization. You can master together of these areas, you are leaving to be so far in front of the competition that it will not be humorous. Well, at least for your competitors.
