People have told me that if you submit to Dmoz more then once that you will not be accepted and it takes up to 2 years to get your listing listed but usually only 6 months. I submuitted about 2 months ago and still nothing but I have my fingers crossed.

Dmoz is very strictly moderated by human and expect submissions to be filtered to the extent and no one could ever pass with just promoting their site. Make your site more interesting and authoritative to be listed, dont submit multiple times or multiple site, they probably know they are came from one person/group.

Dmoz only have very few human editors and everyday they need to work on hundreds probably thousands of sites so it can really take months before a site can be listed. But it's worth the wait coz it's one of the trusted sites. When you make it to them, it means you have really arrived.

Hi It doesn't take 2 years 6 months or other. You need to make sure you follow the guidlines make sure you read them, they are very specific. Have a look at your competition listed in DMOZ and how they have worded their listing and use that as a guide to compare against your own. If you try and use your listing as a sales pitch it will be rejected. Follow those guidlines and make sure you submit to the right category and that your site offers quality content and you should be fine. Yes it may take a few months dependent upon how busy the submissions for the category are, but its worth waiting for.
