Reciprocal links are links between 2 websites, usually based on an agreement by the site owners to exchange links. If you link me, I'll link you back. :)

Reciprocal links only benefits your website if the exchange partner is related to yours and your link partner sends you a do follow link from a page that has a higher PR than yours. Its helps your site to gain traffic and good quality backlinks specially if you link partner has good status and rankings

A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's web site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites, or to show a partnership between two sites. Reciprocal links can also help to increase traffic to your web site in two ways. First you will probably have some viewers visit your site from clicking the reciprocal link directly. Secondly, most Internet search engines also take into account the number of web sites which contain links to your web site; the more hyperlinks to your site found, the higher up in the search engine rankings (depending on the search term) you'll find your site.

Reciprocal linking is a type of link building in which two sites link to each other to benefit each other in terms of link popularity. Google sees this as a link exchange and the benefit of this will be limited as Google may decide that both sites are trying to manipulate the Search Engine Results.

I don't do reciprocal links, though I do swap links with others who have lots of sites and we have similiar niches. There's a lot of debate if reciprocal linking has any real benefit at all - but I do know that one way backlinks do bring results :)
