What are the techniques to implement to be in good SERP. Apart from meta tags and anchor text what are the other techniques we should focus on when thinking of good ranking in search engines from particular keywords.

As now a days everyone is targeting on niche keywords and less competitor keywords the competition for the race of keywords is also becoming more and more complex.

Building quality links for your site will help you achieve good ranking in Google. Link only to relevent sites. Implement whitehat seo tactics and avoid link farms.

I think link building is really good method to improve ranking in serps.

Quality(original) content,quality thematic links will contribute more for ranking in SERP

For me, I prefer backlinking and link exchanging to one another. Its a good tandem and teamwork if you do these strategies which I know a little bit.
