I'll list some points for YouTube promotion:.
1. Give it the Best Title
2. Long Keyword rich description
3. Give it proper tags
4. High number of ratings
5.. High Number of Comments
6. Uploader Profile

Now that's a good list you got there mate. Signature posting in forums and backlinking in social networking sites are also good strategy to promote your video. I hope these might add to your whitelist.

if your linking make sure the no follow tags aren't used..... otherwise its a pointless activity. (apart from human clicks)

Aside from that, you may want to make sure that the video you made is compelling enough to arouse interest in people and if done right, your video campaign could eventually turn viral and you earn yourself an excellent cost efficient marketing advantage.

I think it boils down to video CONTENT. If users don't find your video informative or interesting enough, they won't watch it.

Content is crucial but a great list to bear in mind when SEOing a video.
And it might well be worth it looking at how often video is being given a prominent slot on search results for Google.

Good post but I want to ask that does you tube allows you to add your website name in your video.
