Hey, why don't you hire an SEO in order for your site to be able to generate traffic. There are many kinds on how to be able to generate traffic to a site... You have a very simple site, its okay, but it doesn't really work out that way.

I agree with you there, that when it comes to generating more traffic to a site one should apply some SEO techniques in order for that to happen. Which is the reason it is necessary for you to hire an SEO specialists or if you like you can try it for yourself. Do forum posting, social bookmarking, etc.

Thanks for your responses. Today I signed up at DMOZ.org. Is there any other directories you would recomend? I am unemployed and have no money to pay someone to do this for me.

Do tons of social bookmarking to boost your traffic. You should also submit your site to web directories. Here's a good list: www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php. Good luck!

Well, I know you want visitors streaming into your site from early on but unfortunately, things don’t always unfold according to our expectations. Traffic building can take a tremendous amount of effort but you should know that whatever traffic building efforts you’ve done serves as a foundation for future marketing. When building traffic, you can learn from your personal experiences and discern what’s works or what doesn’t. Every single visitor to your website at this stage is likely to become a part of your regular audience. 8)

I follow:

• Submit your quality content and articles on social networking and news websites like stumbleupon.com, del.icio.us, digg.com, reddit.com, netscape.com etc. These days webmasters are using Orkut.com communities for advertising their websites.
• Participate in forums like digitalpoint.com and make the link of your website your signature and post threads, replies etc.
• Make the url and slogan of your website your signature in your emails.
• Last but not the least, do some sort of ground marketing in the form of ads, posters, newspapers and tv ads etc. They will be also useful to attract new users.

Thank you for your help

Well, if you want just traffic, i'd recommend social networking in any forms - twitter and stumbleupon gave me the best results.

If you need quality traffic, then you surely need google ranking. To build links i'd recommend using all available methods together - social, forums, blogs, directories. Though, directories do not seem to be working much by now imo.. i'd try to get a list of dofollow sites of different kinds. etc...

I think social bookmarking is the best techniue for getting traffic; you can submit good social bookmarkigngs as there are many and also try to participate in forums like digitalpoint.

The best and targeted traffic comes from search engines, especially google and yahoo. Work out on your backlinks for position in these search engines.
