Hi, I'm a newbie. Currently is building a webpage and try to help out the Asia tsunami victims. Basically it's a very simple page with all the worldwide online donation sites listed, together with all collected online uptodate news links related to the asia's tsunami events plus some knowledge/educational tsunami info to the readers. I would like my page showed to the public soon so that people would able to get access if they wish to find out the tsunami disasters. Futhermore, it's a webpage and not a website url. I get some trouble to submit the url to the well known yahoo and google search engine. Plz help. thx.

First, submit your site manually to Google, Yahoo and MSN Beta and other engines. You can use the Submit Express's
Free Search Engine Submission to submit to Google and few others.
Second try to get links from sites that are already listed in majoe engines. If you own other site's that are already listed, that would be a good place to start.
Third, for non-profit sites such as yours, most fee based directories and engines like Yahoo and LookSmart offer free submission. Submit your site to them and hopefully they will list them fast. Once youare listed there, it will helpyour natural rankings as well.
Forth, the quickest way to get in engines is to pay. If that is something you can do, put yourself in Overture, Google Adwords as well
Yahoo SiteMatch.

Getting indexed is a good start, but has little do to with building a good site. Branding, Traffic, Coversion, are all other relevant factors to consider.
