Follow white hat seo techniques. You can use both on page and off page seo techniques. Once you finished with on page you can build quality backlinks for your website.

You need to check the keywords current ranking and based on that you do the competitor analysis on the same keywords. This will helps you to get the detail overview on how you can gain the top ranking.
If you can use any tool like MOZ or Ahref, to check the no. of backlinks on targeted keywords and URL. As per that you can do the following off-page activities -
1. Guest Posting with dofollow link
2. Article marketing
3. Press Release
4. Forum
5. Blog Commenting
