It not much effect on Keywords ranking results. Its also a spammy technique, so please try to avoid it. Do only quality work with your own website links..

Google love short url's and google has also updated algorithm for give priority to give short url's on first page of google.

I do'nt think so that short url will help to increase our keyword ranking.
