How much of the website do you have done? If it looks pretty much complete but is not fully ready, then get a move on and submit and start a massive link campaign. When google indexes you, your site will be well on its way to the top but as always, it will take time and a lot of effort. Write articles and get onto forums like this one. It will help you in the long run. This can really only be done if your site is live and almost complete, most places will not link to you or look at you if your site is not complete or almost!

Yes it is true. Google takes some time to index and rank new site. This is called as "SAND BOX THEORY"

If you want to get top 10 rank for any key word in Google, you need to submit your site to DMOZ directory. It is very deficult to get dmoz. however it is quite easy if you have a rich content site.

First try to manage some high PR one way links for your site which is most effective in SEO view. It also helps to index your site by Search Engine quickly. It is the only way to avoid “Sandbox Theory”.

If you can't get in DMOZ sometimes it helps to pay someone for it.
I don't really think its right but it is an option.

Oh forgot to add the link.

You can post here and have them bid on it to get you in.

There is never a need to submit your pages. You just need to link to them from pages that are already indexed and they should get crawled and indexed within time.

If you want to index on google within one or two week, here is a method.

Submit few articles to PR 6> articles directories.

You can easily buy some high PR links. Just google "buy text link".

Start link building for your site and search engine crawler will crawl your site when they find your link on other sites....

best of luck :)
