Hi Guys!
I am new member on this forum - hello!
I was reading through the posts and find no any info about so called 'mini networks' ( if there is a topic about that - sorry I missed it )
I would like to ask you for your opinion about what I recently done :
I have a succesfull website - a local travel guide that I wrote whole last year.
Being quite happy with that one, and learning lot of things about web publishing, I decided to do another site which will cover larger geographic area - so I created travel guide for that larger area - the whole country.

It is going well with this one too, but just recently I come to idea to do some 'special interest' guides for same country, so I bought few more domains that include my targeted keywords, like www.camping-mycountry.com, www.windsurfing-mycountry.com, www.walking-mycountry.com and www.sailin-mycountry.com

I started to do those pages too, and on each page I linked my www.mainguide-mycountry.com (my second website) with link title
'guide to my country'

Now, I started to worry that might be penalised by search engines... :( becouse of this linking....

So, does anybody know to which extent I can link between my websites to be safe and ok with search engines?

Also, I have to say that all content of my sites is unique, no any double content or similar, and beside my links, i placed lot of other people links on my sites to...

Thanks for your time in answering this and giving me your opinion!

Thanks!

Thank you dyn4mik3!
Your answers are very useful :)
Unfortunately, I already bought webhost space from SAME provider :(
That was bit silly, but I was not aware....

I would say also do not cross link all your sites to each other. For example if you have 10 sites, do not cross link everything to everything. Instead pick a few sites on random and link to them from each site. That way you do not create a min network of sites that can be easily dected.

Ofcource keeping them on seperate IP's is also a good idea. If you already got hosting at same place, that does not mean your IP is the same, unless you ended up on the same server.

You may be better off with one main site, and sub folders for the location variations.
