lets say that you have a new site www.a.com
it has thousands of pages and it is somthing like shooping.com or bizrate\shopzilla.

how would you start penetrating the search engines?

today google and yahoo are indexing only 100 pages...and i want to know
how can i increase the number....

so basically my question is how you will stat promoting site that
is very similar to shoooping.com or bizrate.

You need some work to make your site search engine friendly because your site is dynamic based. Sometimes dynamic based site have trouble getting indexed, specially if you use over 3 paramateres in your URL (meaning if your URL has a question mark (?) and 3 or more equal (=) signs).

A quick solution might be something like mod_rewrite which for apache servers. It takes the URL and re-writes them in search engine freidnly format and file names. If you don't have Apache server, then look for equivalant options for your sever.

After this, you need to plan a site structure, so your most important categories and pages are all linked from the main page and also to each other.

Also, create a Site Map and link it from your main page.

Then, you need to create a lot of links towards your site and not only to your main page, but also to your most important categories.

Before starting doing seo of a website, one need to do the following tasks:

1. Competitor Analysis - Analyze your market competitors and check what keywords they have targeted on their page's meta tags and content.
2. Keyword Analysis - It's important to analyze what keywords are being searched these days. You can check from https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. This is the right tool to check keyword popularity and hits.


So do these basic steps before you star SEO for your website.

First generate a sitemap file using the sitemap generator tool at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com.

Then place that file to your web server's root folder.

Then edit the robots.txt file to contain : "Sitemap:<URL of sitemap file>"

Submit the sitemap.xml to Google WebMaster and Bing WebMaster tools.
