The only thing is that nobody knows exactly what Google considers in his algorithm.

Well, the higher the PR is, the more faster Google will crawl the site. If you have PR 10, then you are always sure that Google will always index your site. However, from what I know, the only site that has a PR of 10 is Google itself. Care to share any site you know which has a PR of 10?

Looks like Google is giving less weight to PR these days, which I think is a good thing. Pagerank isn't that important, ranking is the factor that matters most.

Yes, it seems the importance of PR is fast losing its importance. What I feel is that Google is conferring more importance on good and quality content and is shifting its focus from links only.

Yeah I do agree with you that PR & crawl rate are co-related.The more the PR,the more the crawl your site would get from google.

Page Rank ranges from 0 to 10, 10 being the highest. It is calculated based on the QUALITY of inbound links that you are getting. The more quality of inbound links, the higher chances for your site to get high PR value.
