You can use CopyScape.com to check the contents of your articles. But it requires that your article is already posted in a URL that could be accessed by anyone to check your article for duplicates. If you want to use a tool that checks an article before it could be posted online, you can try ArticleChecker.com

Hi Gina!

Copyscape is a really good tool in checking duplicate contents. But you don't want to just check it with one tool.

You can check other plagiarism/duplicate content tools
http://www.articlechecker.com/ - personally recommend this one.

Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar. Mostly, this is not deceptive in origin. Examples of non-malicious duplicate content could include:

* Discussion forums that can generate both regular and stripped-down pages targeted at mobile devices

* Store items shown or linked via multiple distinct URLs
* Printer-only versions of web pages

Copyscapde.com is the best for checking the uniqueness of the articles. It is the paid tool but it is the best.

I'm using http://blogoscoped.com/quotefinder/ before. And now, I tried to check it out but this is what I found out
Quotefinder was a little app here that allowed you to paste a text, and then highlighted those sentence which had a lot of phrase matches in Google... indicating that the sentence might have been copied from elsewhere. The tool is Google SOAP API based, so ever since Google cancelled the SOAP API it stopped working, and I didn't update it yet (to work on e.g. Google's REST API)...

Listen, if it was posted already online you will find it. Unless that site does not care about being spidered and has it as an image. Overall what needs to be said is while it may be time consuming to do this work, you have to invest in growing yourself. If it worries you so much , whenever you get work like this done, you should have a failsafe clause that does not surrender full funds until the net has been scoured!

Actually, there are so many ways to determine it, try to search some plagiarism tools in search engines. Or you can view this site: http://www.articlechecker.com/
